All right, I'm trying this again. Because tumblr has eaten my life and because the dw/lj crossposting has gone so well and, most importantly, because I'm in a better headspace with these things, I am going to start mirroring my recs on tumblr.

They'll be the same as they are here, minus the bonus shared links (which are so often tumblr links themselves that it felt weird to include them--but I may change my mind later!), it's just a matter of which platform you do or don't want to check out! :D

I'm currently in the middle of posting a bunch of older posts, so there's nothing precisely new there, but it'll take me a bit to catch up, since I don't want to overwhelm it right away. (I know! Me showing restraint on tumblr! That's not how this arrangement is supposed to work.)

Hmm, okay, let me narrow that down a bit because I'm really just here for the Loki feels. So, I select the Loki character tag. ....1367 fics. Out of 1620. Literally, over 84% of them are Loki fic. ....I suppose that's about right.

    ღ - I needed a break from Sherlock fandom and now I have this Avengers shit to deal with, but I don't think I'm done with that fandom yet. Just... let me get this embarrassing thing out of my system first. (And if any of you want to, uh, help me, I wouldn't be opposed.)
    ღ - Oh, fandom. I have something terrible to confess. No, not that I saw The Avengers late, because that was a case of bad timing keeping me from it. Not even that I liked the movie a lot, that I didn't want to repeatedly punch Joss Whedon in the face afterward, as I usually do. I think he hit all the notes a movie like this needed and even made a lot of this movie absolutely sing. I give him kudos for this one. And it's not even that I have a new ship. No, instead, my shame is in two things--one, I ship a really cliche ship and, two, I think I like the movieverse better than the comics. [ETA: Movieverse versions of some characters (ie, the Thor characters), christ, I need to stop letting my run-ons keep me from properly finishing my thoughts.] You don't know how this is shameful to me because I spent years ragefacing about the X-Men movies getting their crap all up in my comics and thaaaaaa'ts noooooot Roooooooogue stoooooop itttttttt. So, for me to turn around after the movie and be like INTERNET, GIVE ME ALL YOUR MOVIEVERSE THOR/LOKI PORNS, it's just embarrassing. It's embarrassing because I don't want comicsverse fic! (Though, someday I am going to read Journey Into Mystery because everyone says it's amazeballs.) I want movieverse pornos! Goddammit, self. And you had to pick the second most cliche pairing to do it! orz At least I can redeem myself by going YES I DO BELIEVE I AM INTERESTED IN CLINT/NATASHA, though.

    ღ - As I was going back through my old posts to gather up recs to finally update my site, I realized, holy shit, there were a lot of comments I hadn't responded to. I AM REALLY SORRY. I'm sort of tempted to go back and start responding now, but... would that be horrible? To respond a year late in some cases? Usually more like six months, but I'm not sure if that would be tackier to just not reply/seem really rude or to reply late when the poster is like, "...wha...? why is she responding now...?" What do other people do in this situation?
    ღ - Link via songswifteye, a vid of The Boys Are Back using several of the various incarnations of Sherlock Holmes characters. This was especially nice to watch because I know I often get wrapped up in the Sherlock versions to the point of forgetting some of the long, long and varied history of these characters. This was a nice reminder to step outside that for a bit.
    ღ - Oh, no. Sherlock and John dancing. In formal wear. It's like the artist was trying to make me into goo.
    ღ - And, hell, as long as I was flitting about that tumblr, a South Korean trailer for s2 (which means SPOILERS for the whole thing) was quite the thing. That... was not edited by fans, wow.
    ღ - Well. This is certainly an interesting set of gifs and rather telling. (SPOILERS for A Scandal in Belgravia.) I also like John suggesting baby names because it was so snarky, like, seriously, how do you not interpret that as jealousy?
    ღ - So, mklutz mentioned that Sailor Moon Cosmic Heart necklace that kumacrafts is selling on etsy and I said, oh, etsy is terrible for me because I want all the Sailor Moon things, especially if it's jewelry. So, obviously I didn't open up a million tabs and look at all the pretty Sailor Moon things I wanted, right? Of course not. I totally opened about twenty tabs up and started thinking, hmm, okay, do I really need to have any moneys in my bank account? Because there is a Sailor Moon hat that I'm pretty sure I would learn how to knit just to make. There's also Professor Tomoe glasses and a Sailor Moon-inspired charm bracelet and an adorable adjustable Sailor Chibi Moon necklace. And then I finally had to just pull myself away.

    ღ - (Vaguely SPOILERLY for The Reichenbach Fall.) A series of Sherlock disguises in fanart is a really neat concept and the artist does some great work.

Intellectually, I knew there was more to the fandom than just the gifs, art, and fic, but... I'm not sure I'm ready to take the leap into intelligent discussion. Despite that I've talked about it a bit on lj/dw myself, I just... just leave me here with my feelings! Stop being fascinating!

    ღ - Consulting Shadow Government is neat and so is Confrontation. It's nice to come across Mycroft art sometimes!

    ღ - I can't lie. I agree with Sherlock and Moriarty.
    ღ - I liked this Sherlock vid with Queen music. It was... not quite what I expected, but I liked how it worked out.

They're not that different." And there are pretty much only four of us who know both series (because there are only four of us in the Kabuto fandom, goddamn) but that just makes it funnier.
